So the exam is over with, thank goodness. Did I get 100 on it..probably not, but at least I know what to expect for our next exam. For now I'm just appreciating not having to do very much work. Sea kayaking started today and I was back in my dry suit again. I'm not sure I can recall one week in the last month when I haven't been in a dry suit. Let's just say that I am officially a pro at getting in and out of them, as well as peeing in the woods with one on. This dry suit was also a wet suit, like many of the others I've had to wear. Which isn't all that bad as long as you either a) don't get into the water in the first place or b) stay in the water the whole time, unfortunately today was a combination so by the time you adjusted to the water temperature you got out and were then freezing until you could get your heart rate up again. But as much as I love getting outdoors on the weekend, in good, but mostly bad weather, I truly appreciate coming back home to a hot shower and a warm bed. Tonight I'm making up for all the calories burned while I had to capsize my kayak, self-rescue and then pump out all the water, with a huge bowl of spaghetti! And then I will relax and watch a movie before passing out due to a food coma.
I hope everyone back home is having a wonderful weekend!
